The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), often called the Senior Box Program, is a federally funded nutrition program designed to improve the health and well-being of older adults. The program provides monthly food packages filled with nutritious USDA foods to help supplement diets and stretch grocery budgets.
The program is administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is available in all 50 states. CSFP serves income-eligible adults aged 60 and older by providing healthy foods that support good nutrition and overall health.

Of this number, more than 249,000 seniors are food insecure as of 2023. As Ohio's senior population continues to grow, programs like CSFP play an increasingly important role in supporting healthy aging and food security.
