In 2025, more than 2,500 volunteers contributed over 10,000 service hours to our mission.
Volunteers are vital to the work we do at Shared Harvest Foodbank. Join our cause and make a lasting impact as we continue expanding programs to better serve our community.
There are many ways to get involved, from sorting and packing donations, to assisting in The Market, and more.
Current volunteer opportunities are available through our VolunteerHub portal. Please register online for any event you would like to attend. All volunteers must sign up and create a VolunteerHub account before volunteering with us.

Volunteers must be age 10 or older. All volunteers, regardless of age, must register with their own VolunteerHub account.
Most volunteer opportunities take place in our Hunger Awareness Center warehouse, The Market (our on-site food pantry), or at off-site distribution events throughout our service area.
Hunger Awareness Center activities may include sorting and packing donations, preparing senior food boxes, and packing food bags for elementary-age children.
In The Market, volunteers may accompany neighbors as they shop or help restock the pantry on days when neighbors are not being served.
At off-site drive-thru distributions, volunteers help load food into cars for families in need.
Please wear comfortable, seasonally appropriate clothing. Closed-toe shoes are required for all volunteer activities for safety reasons. Avoid excessive jewelry or loose strings that could get caught while volunteering. For outdoor distributions, wear sunscreen and dress in appropriate layers.
Parking is available next to the Hunger Awareness Center. When you arrive at Shared Harvest, you will see our Distribution Center and The Market at the yellow and tan building. Once you reach a fork in the driveway, follow that path until you reach the Hunger Awareness Center—the blue building behind our Distribution Center.
If you are volunteering in The Market, park on the hill next to Panera. The Market is the yellow building facing the main road.
Parking details for off-site distributions are included in each event description on VolunteerHub.
For Hunger Awareness Center events, enter through the main doors. Check in at the kiosk in the Volunteer Room. When your event begins, you’ll be led to the warehouse and given instructions for the day’s activity.
For The Market, enter through the main doors. Our Pantry Supervisor will greet you, sign you in, and explain instructions for your shift.
For off-site distributions, go to the distribution site and check in with the organizer. The organizer will sign you in and provide your volunteer assignment.
We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle and leaving other personal belongings in your car. If needed, Hunger Awareness Center volunteers may use the hooks in the Volunteer Room. Outside food and beverages are not allowed in our warehouses, and Shared Harvest is not responsible for any personal belongings.
Most volunteer events take place during the workday, typically between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Off-site distributions are offered a few times each month on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings. We occasionally open evening or weekend Hunger Awareness Center opportunities to the public, but they are not regularly scheduled at this time.
